Today,IhavethehonortoshowyoutheLongxingTemple,akeyculturalrelicprotectionunitinChina.LongxingTempleisoneofthefamoustemplesinChina,knownasthefourtreasuresofNorthChina.ItwasbuiltinthesixthyearofkaihuanginSuiDynasty,andnowhasahistoryofmorethan1400years.Asamatteroffact,theoriginalnameofLongxingTemplewas"longzangTemple",thatis,longzangwithhiddendragonandcrouchingtiger.IntheearlySongDynasty,theTibetancharacterwaschangedtoXingxing,anditwaschangedtoLongxingTempleinthe49thyearofKangxi.Fromthename,wecanalsothinkofhowprosperousourLongxingTemplewasinthepastdynasties.

WhatweareseeingnowistheDabeiPavilion,themainbuildingofLongxingTemple.Enteringit,wewillseea21.3-meter-highbronzecastironGuanyin,whichwascastinthefourthyearofKaibaointheNorthernSongDynasty.Ithas42arms.Besidesitstwoeyes,ithas20handsontheleftandrightsidesofitsbody,holdingdifferentmagicweapons.Eachhandhasoneeye,whichbecomes40handsand40eyes.Itissaidthateachhandeyehas25kindsofmana,and40handsand25eyesbecomethousandsofhandsandthousandsofeyes.Therefore,thisAvalokitesvaraisalsoknownas"Avalokitesvarawiththousandsofhandsandeyes".Itisworthmentioningthatasearlyasmorethan1000yearsago,LongxingTemplewasnaturallycalledthe"GreatBuddhaTemple"becauseofitsexistence.ItwasonlybyhandthatsuchalargebronzeBuddhawasmadewithoutmechanization,whichcreatedamiracleinthehistoryofmetallurgyandfoundryintheworld.
Finally,wecametothePiluhall,whereabronzestatueofPiluBuddhawasworshippedinthemiddle."Pilu"istheSanskritabbreviationof"piluzana",whichmeans"lightshineseverywhere".PiluBuddhaisSakyamuni'sDharmaBuddha.ThisPiluBuddhais6.72metershigh.ThereisasmallBuddhaontheChibalotuspetalsofthethree-layerlotusseat,formingapatternof"ThousandBuddhascirclingPilu".TherearealsothreelayersoffourBuddhas,atotalof12.EachPiluBuddhawearsafiveBuddhacrown.Thereare1072largeandsmallBuddhastatuesonthewholeBuddhastatue,whichhasahighhistorical,scientificandartisticvalue.Itisanisolatedcaseathomeandabroad.
